Support for Communities
Prevent Child Abuse Colorado provides technical assistance, training, and resources to Colorado communities to help organize citizen involvement in prevention, enhance direct services for families in need of support, and implement effective child abuse prevention strategies.
In 2010 and 2011, PCA Colorado participated in the Rural Law Enforcement Methamphetamine Initiative. We worked with communities in 12 counties on the Eastern Plains helping to increase use of 1-800-CHILDREN by parents during times of need, building communtiy commitment to prevent child abuse and neglect through the Pinwheels for Prevention public awareness campaign, and facilitating the development of Circle of Parents Support Groups in rural communities.
